Thank you for your interest in the First Baptist Church!
A church wedding is a spiritual ceremony. It
is a great joy to unite people of faith in a service of worship. It
starts your new life off with a blessing and an invitation for God
to be part of your home. That is why we require both the bride and
groom to BELIEVE in Jesus Christ to be married here. It is necessary
to have Christian faith to have a Christian wedding.
For those who have a pastor and a church
home I recommend planning your wedding at your church. Pastors from
other churches do not ordinarily perform weddings here.
We usually spend at least four hours in
premarital preparation with each couple, and we also require that
you both attend two worship services here. During our time together
we will talk about what the Bible has to say about marriage, love
and establishing a home. We will also explore the “meaning” of each
part of the wedding service. We look forward to getting acquainted
and expect our time together will be enjoyable for us both!
